Weight Loss / Fat Loss

Fat loss is complex and there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach. Oftentimes, a healthy diet and regular exercise may not be enough. When this is the case, it is important to look deeper into the cause of stubborn weight gain.

I explore and treat various causes of weight gain with my patients, which include:

  • Thyroid dysfunction

  • Hormonal imbalance / dysfunction

  • Exposure to xenoestrogens and endocrine-disrupting compounds

  • Poor diet

  • Lack of exercise or ineffective exercise

  • Sleep dysfunction

  • Digestive issues, such as methanogenic bacterial overgrowth as seen in types of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO)

  • Nutrient abnormalities

  • Chronic stress
